Software Defined Networking (SDN)

Education, Telecom, Tutorial, Uncategorized
Software Defined Networking SDN uses canned processes to provision the network. For example, instead of building a network tap using an appliance, users should be able to program the network when they want to build a tap. SDN makes the network programmable by separating the control plane (telling the network what goes where) from the data plane (sending packets to specific destinations). It relies on switches that can be programmed through an SDN controller using an industry standard control protocol, such as OpenFlow. SDN changes the physical network, and therefore is really a new externally driven means to provision and manage the network. A use case may involve moving a large "elephant flow" from a 1G port to a 10G port, or aggregation of lot of “mice flows” to one…

What is the role of the CPU?

Computer, Education, Tutorial, Uncategorized
The CPU is the core component of any computer, and its main function is to control and calculate binary calculations. The abbreviation CPU stands for central processing unit. The CPU is an important piece of hardware that performs the instructions of a computer program. All instructions given by the user have to go through the CPU. It performs input and output operations as well as basic arithmetical and logical operations. A typical CPU consists of a number of components, including the arithmetic logic unit, the control unit and the cache. The CPU is located on the motherboard of a computer.

Central processing unit

Computer, Education, Tutorial, Uncategorized
A central processing unit (CPU) is the electronic circuitry within a computer that carries out the instructions of a computer program by performing the basic arithmetic, logical, control and input/output (I/O) operations specified by the instructions. Traditionally, the term "CPU"to as a processor, central processor, or microprocessor, the CPU (pronounced sea-pea-you) is the Central Processing Unit of the computer. A computer's CPU handles all instructions it receives from hardware and software running on the computer. The CPU is often referred to as the brain of the computer. However, it is more appropriate to refer to software as the brain and the CPU as a very efficient calculator. A CPU is really good with numbers, but if it wasn't for the software it wouldn't know how to do anything else.

Logic AND Function

Education, Semiconductor, Tutorial, Uncategorized
In 1854, George Boole performed an investigation into the “laws of thought” which were based around a simplified version of the “group” or “set” theory, and from this Boolean or “Switching” algebra was developed. Boolean Algebra deals mainly with the theory that both logic and set operations are either “TRUE” or “FALSE” but not both at the same time. For example, A + A = A and not 2A as it would be in normal algebra. Boolean Algebra is a simple and effective way of representing the switching action of standard Logic Gates and the basic logic statements which concern us here are given by the logic gate operations of the AND, the OR and the NOT gate functions. The logic AND Function The Logic AND Function function states that…

What is data communication?

Computer, Education, Networking, Telecom, Tutorial, Uncategorized
Data communication are the exchange of data between two devices via some form of transmission medium such as a Wire Cable. For Data communication  to occur , the communicating devices must be part of a communication system made up of a combination of hardware (physical component) and software ( Programs) . The effectiveness of data communications system depends on four fundamental characteristics :  Delivery Accuracy Timeliness Jitter   Delivery :-  The system must deliver data to the correct destination. Data must be received by the intended device or user and only by that device or user. Accuracy The system must deliver the data accurately. Data that have been altered in transmission and left uncorrected are unusable. Timeliness The system must deliver data in a timely manner . Data delivered late…
